Illinois scenes are from my home and back yard and garden in northern Illinois near the Wisconsin border.  I am always on the look for beautiful or endearing scenes.  I find an endless source right at home.

The elusive Mayapple (The American Mandrake) podophyllum peltatum: 

All parts of the plant are poisonous except the the crab apple size fruit that ripens after the flower dies.
